A Day Off #TraditionallySouthside

Well, there it is. I am taking a day off on Tuesday. Actually, we left early to be with one of our families having surgery in Huntsville. And by the way, for all of the gawkers who had traffic backed up on I-565 from Decatur to Wall-Triana Highway, thanks for making a 40 minute trip last an hour and a half. The wreck wasn’t even on the Interstate. Again, I have wandered from my point.

A day off in the middle of the week. The truth is that Sonya and I were supposed to be in the mountains of North Carolina enjoying a few days of rest and refocusing. The plan was to look at the leaves and spend time praying and planning for next year. We should have known better. Please, folks, don’t take this as self-pity or bitterness, but the facts prove that 9 times out of ten when we make plans to go out of town for a few days, something happens. This time it was four deaths and a surgery that affected 5 different families in our church which in turn affected the entire family of Southside Baptist Church.

So I am sitting in the mall waiting for Sonya to finish getting her hair cut posting this blog to let you know I won’t be posting today. Well, sort of….
